GRAY RESIN
The gray resin finish is urethane resin tinted with a neutral gray color. This may be painted using a variety of techniques and paint types (acrylic, lacquer, etc).
BRASS DIY
This is a cold-cast finish with real brass powder embedded in the surface of the resin. It comes unpolished -- before polishing, the surface has a dull yellow color. To bring out the metal look, a light buffing with steel wool is required (0000 grade steel wool is recommended). Weathering may be added by first applying a light coat of paint, then buffing over the paint with steel wool, leaving some paint down in the hard-to-reach areas.
BRASS FINISHED
This is a fully weathered and polished magnet with painted eyes, mouth, and logo.
All versions have a strong neodymium magnet embedded permanently in the back surface.
To create the magnet I used a mix of 3D printing and traditional sculpting techniques. To get the starting shape, I used a low-poly 3D model printed at one-third scale. This model was then molded, and a clay cast was created for detail work. A second mold was created of the final clay sculpt for producing additional copies in resin.
