These skull planters are handmade in my shop in Portland, Oregon. The piece was originally sculpted in an oil-based clay using traditional sculpting techniques. It is not 100% anatomically correct, but it includes a level of detail similar to what you would expect to find on a real animal skull — even the bottom of the planter matches the features you would see on the underside of a skull.
Each piece is cast in a durable urethane resin which will last many years. The skulls are painted and finished by hand, and therefore each one is different. The photos show a typical paint job for each finish.
LIGHT BONE
This finish resembles the typical off-white color of bone. It includes a layer of weathering to simulate the effects of the desert environment in the Mad Max films. The color may turn slightly more yellow when exposed to sunlight.
DARK BONE
This finish is a darker version of the Light Bone finish, representing an older and more weathered skull.
BLACK
The is a matte, black finish with polished highlights in a dark gray color.
PEWTER
This is a simulated pewter using paint with actual pewter powder. It has a slight level of weathering and a moderate amount of sheen.
BRONZE
This is a simulated bronze using paint with actual bronze powder. It has a slight level of weathering and a moderate amount of sheen.
BRONZE PATINA
This is similar to the Bronze finish, but with an added layer of faux green patina.
COPPER
This is a simulated copper using paint with actual copper powder. It has a slight level of weathering and a moderate amount of sheen.
COPPER PATINA
This finish features a heavy coating of faux blue patina, with areas of dull copper showing through.

The planter includes a small, removable ceramic pot for growing seedlings, small succulents, etc. The pot measures 2 inches across and is 1.65 inches deep. Plant not included.
